Sinn Sunday to end Z week and start off Z next one. Got a new strap for my 155 S Bright Star to share. Actually, I picked up a set of them in 2 additional colors because I liked them so much and they didn't cost too much either. The strap is from a brand called Hēmsut. If I understand the phoenetic pronunciation of ē, it is pronounced with long e sound like "ee".. so, "Heemsut"? Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways...

I had a desire to outfit my 155 with some other strap options than I have been using. Not that I don't like them. I still do. But, I was thinking about what would look like something a modern military fighter pilot might use, strap-wise? Perhaps something strapped around a flight suit or jacket. My imagination pictured something "strappy" and made of nylon or some sort of fabric material. AND, having matching black coated hardware to match the watch head's all black case was a requirement as well.

After some keywords search and browse around the Internet, a photo of a strap of interest eventually led me to the Hēmsut. This strap design is under their Smitha collection.

This fit the brief in my head for the strap I was looking for. It's "strappy", but, not overly complicated. Quite straightforward with a hook & loop (um, "not-Velcro) quick size to fit and secure to the wrist system. It has a bit of that bund strap look with a multi-layered strap aesthetic. But, it isn't and has no extra layer between the watch and the wrist.

I think these are aftermarket strap options for primarily the smart watch market. They even have a version with a different attachment for Apple watches. This one has 20mm quick release spring bars installed. They also make with 22mm spring bars, fyi. And, there is another version that has an extra metal component to attach the strap ends to instead of the straight fabric that I have.

They come in a small variety of sizes/lengths. This one seems to have just 2 size ranges. Medium for wrist sizes between 6.3"-7.2". And, Large for wrist sizes between 7.2"-9.2".

Initially I ordered one to test and try first in Medium size. I have a 7" wrist. So, I figured that should work fine. And, it actually did (does). However, it leaves a large unused loop attachment section on the strap on the securing side/end. I didn't like the look of that. I imagine over time that area can look "fuzzy" and it also is potential for lint or other undesirable particles to get stuck which would look unsightly.

So, I returned it and bought the Large size along with 2 additional colors on grey and olive green. I think they would also look really good on my Sinn. The Larger size would allow full coverage of the loop attachment section by the securing hook attachment section which has the brand and model tags.

Btw, there are some two more colors available in orange and blue. All the colors seem to have a different accent color for the brand and model tags stitched at the end of the hook attachment section.

It's just day one on the new strap. But, so far, it feels quality enough for under $20! They have been comfortably secured around my wrist. I am excited to try the other 2 colors I had purchased. I'm fairly certain they will also look great on my Sinn 155 S and look forward to sharing some photos when available.
