A controversy broke out on Twitter against Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece, Oppenheimer, a biographical film about J Robert Oppenheimer, the father of atomic bombs. A scene nearly 20 minutes into the film that involved the display of sexual intercourse with reading verses from the Holy Gita has irked Hindu sentiments. Yeah, I completely agree with Mr. Tatsam here. It could have been a dry moment without that. Sexual pleasure is also like a pinnacle or sense of supremacy for a very thin moment and Oppenheimer quoting the Bhagavad Gita line depicts supremacy of his project in a metaphorical way. I love this concept. Don't know why people are so salty about that.

Before commenting or issuing threats, one should investigate the truth. The scientist was into Hinduism and learnt Sanskrit properly. One of his favourite books is Bhagavat Gita and, in his real life, he used to quote many slokas from it. The director of the film has used this fact. So, don’t try to re write history

Personally think that the quote made in the film magnifies the philosophical breadth and transcendental beauty of our thought and expression- we ought to be pleased. However, if the negative attitude adumbrated is exported, the real extent of the rot in our civic system will be open for all to see.

One need to be careful with religion and sentiments. There is no need to use it in sex scene. Imagine a similar scene using quotes from Quran or Bible. Not protest but it would have been violence.

During the movie I could envision this happening in India while watching the scene 😅😅 not very tasteful I agree. I guess Nolan was going for some dramatic effect by mixing up the I am death phrase with a sensous moment.
