Telefunken Opus 2004 tube radio restoration - Part 2
As usual, the linear restoration plan is diverted with a few small repairs, which is normal as I go through the process. The dial chord sees some saving, and the power supply check reveals leaky filter caps.
Anyway, the set gets powered up, there is noise, but just how much .... you'll have to watch the video to find out. Enjoy!

As usual another very educational video. You have taught me so much. You explain it in a way and show the procedure such that it is easy to understand. Once your procedure is fully understood it has helped me considerably in a methodical way of verifying each section is in working order. Nicely done!

I guess your mains voltage was a bit high that day - IIRC, you've mentioned before it's normally ~235V or so, but the lamp limiter with no load is reading 259-260V there 😳!

It's certainly a beast of a chassis, isn't it? A fair size, and packed full of work. Looking forward to the rest of the videos in the series (and you might have inspired me to try my hand at a few of my own - I've got a little Emud waiting to be worked on that is interesting for its simplicity).
