I never understood why believers say that the universe couldnt have just started without a god, but god doesnt need a creator.

If the universe coulnt have come into existence without a creator, then neither can god.

Timeless, spaceless, and immaterial means it's nowhen, nowhere, and nothing. If something is nowhen, nowhere and nothing, logically it is indistinguishable from being nonexistent. Therefore, your God doesn't exist.

Most scientists (and most atheists) search for conclusions that match their evidence. Most theists tend to search for evidence that matches their conclusions.

I always love theists using this argument. If we grant that the universe had a cause, that only gets us to deism. No way any where near close to their own brand of religion

If you take his argument further, you have to ask yourself the question “who created God”? But at this point they just stop and give their favored God the benefit of the doubt and say “he has always existed and had no creator.” That's just ridiculous.
