Wow - reading the comments here it's clear that some know-it-alls don't know that Epiphone 1) was making guitars before Gibson and 2) is now owned by Gibson because Gibson didn't appreciate the competition. Properly set up, an Epiphone is a perfectly nice guitar. For most people, including some of the "know-it-alls" posting here, an Epiphone is just as good as the comparable Gibson model - just less expensive. Now, if you can get the same guitar for less money but you spend more money for a different name on the headstock from the very same company, are you really all that smart?

For those of you who were curious, this is tuned a half step down.
To tune a half step down easily, just put a capo on the first fret and tune in standard tune. Remove the capo and viola, you're a half step down.

turn all strings half a tone down - meaning that it should sound like 1 fret lower( ex. open second string should sound like 4th fret first string )

I own a Epi Les Paul Standard, it's my all-time favourite guitar, it's lightweight, sounds great, and plays great. Your totally right, my Les Paul sounds better then pretty well every Gibson I've ever played.

wow, this was an old post. I actually already had my Gibson LP when I made this post nearly 11 months ago and was considering a Fender but...since this post, I have bought two bass guitars and I'm in bass heaven. Wish I would have bought a bass guitar years ago. I'm afraid there's just no looking back. I haven't touched my guitars or piano since I've starting playing bass:) LOL

He forgot to mention that this song (and most of GNR songs) are played on a half step down. So for all of you that are new to guitar tune your guitar half step down when playing GNR ;D
