I think Momo stumbles when she speaks in Japanese on camera for a couple reasons:
She struggles to switch between languages on the spot
She’s used to her regional dialect and not the standard language
She uses Japanese so infrequently that she takes a while to “warm up”
I’m sure that her Japanese is fine when she’s having a casual conversation with her friends, especially Sana because they speak the same dialect, but on camera you might get a different impression.
