Something neat happened while I was doing this lab, I setup the initial NAT configurations and then pinged the DNS server from PC1 to make sure it worked. After that, I got distracted and started watching videos on Youtube, I came back to the lab after a few minutes and continued the pings on PC2 and 3, and to my initial surprise, the ping on PC3 went through without a problem. Then I realized what happened, I went back to try the ping on PC1 again like the first time and sure enough, it failed! In the time that I was away from the lab, the router automatically cleared the NAT translations since they weren't in use. It was really cool to see this NAT function in action!

I tried issuing 'ip nat inside source list 1 interface g0/0' without 'overload' just to test it, and R1 translated the local IP addresses to the same public IP address, with each host having a different port number when I looked at 'show ip nat translation.' I believe this is a bug in Packet Tracer???

Why is it 101? Isn't 102-100= 2? Am I missing something please enlighten me.
