2018 Lexus RX350L – Redline: First Look – 2017 LAAS

Although already the best-selling luxury vehicle in the US, Lexus dealers and consumers have constantly begged Lexus to introduce a 3-row version of the RX crossover. For 2018, it finally arrives in Dec, with 4.3" of additional length and a $4,000 premium over the standard RX. It should be able to steal some sales from the very popular Acura MDX.

3:53 the RX does offer a panoramic sunroof. It's an optional feature.

Cool!! You do tons of car reviews and I wonder how you can manage all different information on each single vehicle and conduct a bunch of research to be able to speak without struggling. You never seem to get confused but don't look like you prepare that much either, you just know it cuz you've been doing this so long? So professional man!  Keep it up!

Probably the best reviewer in my opinion. Love your videos!

I've watched 3 other reviews already about the new RX. Not one mentioned how limited the rear seat space actually was. THAT, is why I love your channel lol

Thanks for posting, was waiting for you to review the RXL from LA. All the reviews dropping today are super, great job!

Sofyan Bey, you was just talking about this. addressing the three row seats and they finally did it.

I think it would take some sales, but its overall low swiping roof design really hinders that third row. Highlander is shorter than a pilot, RX looks shorter than an MDX. I don't think this will pose as a big problem for Acura. If it does, then it will push each of these top sellers to only improve and one up which is great for consumers.

How much did rear (2nd row) legroom go down with the addition of a third row? I liked the 2nd row legroom during my review of the RX, but I feel like Lexus compromised that to add the evidently cramped 3rd row.

Love the brown leather with the red stitching! Would go with that combo for sure if I bought one of these!

"steal some MDX sales"? more like potential to steal 50% of MDX sales

Does this model come with the captain chair option?

What I DO like about this vehicle is that the captains chairs are a standalone option. Everyone else shoves them down your throat if you op for the top of the line trim which is frustrating. Most of the time the 3rd row I keep folded down with a tonneau cover over the rear and use the 5-passenger configuration and fold them up when I need them, but when you throw in those annoying captains chairs, I lose a seat and the barrier from the middle seat keeping the stuff in the cargo area from being seen. That is one item that may make up for the disappointment of not having the panoramic sunroof.

My only gripe: rear wiper is at the bottom of the window, not under the spoiler at the top. I could live with that...

will folding the 3rd row gives the 2nd row longer legroom compared to the regular RX version?

The extra length in the wheelbase makes this look like a minivan at certain angles. You can tell this vehicle was never intended for the third row seat. I feel like they just threw it together because they could and people were begging for it; the space looks about the same as the second row in the LC coupe.

That is so would upgrade mine to an L only for much needed increase rear storage space. That third row is good for a 30min ride tops.

The RXL will also have a F sport trim?

Looks like a Honda Oddyseey from the side view!

No pano roof on the L? The two row version offers it.

Great car and review! Just upgraded my wife's NX200t to a 2017 RX350 recently. Not sure about that third row, my kids would barely fit in there!
