if demand for product in usa falls there will be an excess of cameras to be dumped cheap into other countries - you may see prices fall to non us countries to shift volume so im not sure prices will go up outside usa because of higher unit costs to manufacture - after all if they lift prices to other countries they just wont sell . Its not good that US consumers may be paying more to enable better deals elsewhere but maybe after the dust settles and the reality of how long it will take to increase production in usa (on the basis of tariffs that could be reversed in years to come ) then public opinion in the USA may influence policy

Tariffs will have less of an impact than the readjustment of pricing, with the tariffs used as an excuse, due to inflation. Camera and lens prices have not kept pace with the 50-200% inflation over the past 5 years and so this is a great opportunity for the manufacturers to reset, with tariffs used as the scapegoat. The tariffs are a negotiating tool and I seriously doubt whether they will still apply in 6 months time. But what will be with us forever is the price increases due to inflation.

It's not a 10% basic tariff with an additional. It's 10% for all the countries that don't have other specific number.

So far, American camera prices with tariffs are still cheaper than the regular Canadian prices. I think people. will adapt pretty easily.
