I switched from Ally to SoFi to get the 2% APY on both savings and checking. I keep at least $10k in my checking account for monthly bills so getting the high APY is a bonus.

I wish more bank accounts offered cash back, or slightly higher cash back limit from discover. I’ve gotten 30 bucks a month for the past 7 or so months with discover! And now I get paid Wednesday instead of fridays

Frankly SoFi has been the best bank I’ve used so far. Now 2.5% interest rate on both checking and savings, great automation and software ecosystem including “Relay” which works a lot like Mint/Personal Capital, and surprisingly good customer service. The only thing that sucks is the annoyingly low deposit daily maximums.

If you love your family, then don't die with sofi. I'm dealing with closing accounts for a deceased relative and they have been the worst financial institution that I've dealt with (I had no issues with Capital One). The customer service is horrible. I've had to send the legal paperwork in multiple times to multiple people, and after I send in the paperwork, they don't respond to emails and won't give me a number to call them back. All their reps say is it is processing and they don't have a timeline (it's been almost two months). #dontdiewithsofi

I used to have Sofi. But I don’t use them anymore. I recently got locked out of my account for 2 weeks due to a technical error on their end and they couldn’t do anything to help me. Luckily I had a backup account with money in it but yea was super stressful just waiting on them to fix the issue and let me back in my account.

Another two huge perks that also make my favorite bank account Charles Schwab: unlimited free physical checks and unparalleled customer service. I've had to call them up a few times for various things and the reps consistently have solved my issues within the first couple of minutes after verifying my info while remaining extremely professional. In the instance you don't get a rep on the line when you immediately call in their "hold music" is stock market and worldwide economic news which appears to be updated daily.

I love my Discover cashback checkings account/debit card. I pay rent with debit card as well as my monthly car payment, that’s instant +$26 in cashback per month for paying something I’d anyway need to pay with debit/cash. A year later I’d have enough for a monthly installment of my car 😁

Charles Schwab is my favorite bank so far, no ATM fees has been incredibly useful when traveling abroad and their custom service has been better / faster at solving issues than anywhere else I've used. Also when I signed up for their checking account at the beginning of this year I don't think it required a minimum deposit or if it did it was low (around $100)
