This year's best-value SUV? 2024 Skoda Kamiq FACELIFT review

Skoda's just given the Kamiq a mid-life facelift, stuck in some new tech and generally given the small SUV a fresh lease of life. Have they brought it up to date? Join me in sunny California (sorry, rainy Frankfurt) as I take you for a full walkaround, chat about the tech, infotainment, engine changes and take it for a drive.

Same colour as mine. Phoenix orange! All of the Kamiqs had LED headlights I believe. The climate control is identical to my one as well, most of the functions are buttons, but pressing MENU brings up more options on the display. Skoda were offering heavy discounts on the outgoing model, and to be honest, the differences aren't anything worthy of waiting for, providing you get the current SE L, so mine has the full virtual cockpit, larger screen and a few other good bits, and the 1.5 DSG is the same unit, unchanged, but all the 1.0's in the facelift are the new generation versions.

The Skoda Scala is a C-segment hatchback which is larger than a Golf. Put larger wheels under it and pump up the suspension and you get a B-segment SUV, called Kamiq. The segments are very random now.

This FL model now starts at 18200 (16500 pounds) euros for entry level 95HP esence trim arround EU and i don't understand why does it cost so much more in UK.

The czech word for hemp is " konopí". Pronunciation is - both "o" letters are short like the first "o" in the word "cotton" and the last part is basically pronounced as "pee" :D Also ive had 2 pre facelift kamiqs already :D both phoenix orange :D its a pretty nice car .. I rode as a passenger in facelift Scala and its pretty nice. Gotta say though, I have always had manual gearbox and the DSG immediately starts to slow down/ drags once you lift your leg from the accelerator pedal .. way more than any manual skoda in 3rd gear or higher .. Now I have a new but still pre-facelift Octavia, thankfully without the speed limit warning :D Its a step above Kamiq and Scala :D Whats funny - Ive always wanted to have red LEDs at least in front doors when you open them :D Now I have the word Škoda projected under the front doors but instead of red LEDs I still got red reflectors :D:D:DD
