No More Gigabyte Reviews!

The reasons we won't do any more Gigabyte reviews! With official samples, at least. If we find anything interesting, we might buy a sample on our own and review it (like we did with their explosive PSUs).

What Gigabyte is doing is precisely the reason why we need channels like yours. Keep up the good work. Happy to see the channel growing. :)

Unfortunately that is common practice around here as well. The public needs to support independent media outlets, otherwise there will only be sell out "influencer" channels not passing information along but rather just doing marketing for these companies.

Its hilarious that Gigabyte thought it was appropriate for them to approach an independent review channel and then get to say what you can or can't post as a review. Good job on telling them to take a hike and bringing this to light.

I can' t wait for Steve's reaction to this. Good for you Ari. This thing has to stop. Companies can not force their opinion to independent reviewers

Hi colleges, I like what you do, you real professionals and I have same experience with gigabyte. They don’t like being criticised and when being shown real quality of their products. Sometime ago aerocool showed me your channel, and now I use your examples for my own videos with psu reviews. You inspire me, thank you and good luck. 😇

Thanks for speaking up. We as consumers needs reviewers with your kind of integrity! Lord knows these corporations don't have any! Great job exposing them.

I'm glad you are standing up to this, don't let these companies control your reviews.

Keep doing a good job!

I heard gigabyte scored a lucrative contract with the United States military and are now shipping all excess stock of these psu’s to the Middle East. Jokes aside love the content.

Thank you Aris. If Gigabyte can't handle honest criticism, then they don't deserve any positive media exposure from reviewers.

I have a Gigabyte motherboard but this kind of activity has shaken my confidence in the brand....lining up a different brand motherboard and will not buy any Gigabyte products in the future. Thank you for your hard work and honesty.

I was considering several Gigabyte products last year and after seeing some issues, decided against every of them.

One was I got a white box mainboard that was supposed to have come from Gigabyte's warranty repair. It was missing the VRM heatsink and I found that they replaced one of the phases with wrong MOSFETs, didn't even solder them in properly, and unwashed water-clean flux confirmed that it was almost for sure actually Gigabyte's official handiwork. The HDMI port capacitors were corroded by left-on flux. I surmise they didn't have the right MOSFETs and loosely sat in the ones they had at hand, just to test why the board died, the coil sucked away the heat so the solder didn't flow. Then they sat it aside and months later, found that the board "works" in a 10 second smoke test, and without finishing the repair, sent it back. The shop where I bought advised that contacting Gigabyte is nearly pointless and that it'll take them half a year to sort it out if ever, but the shop reimbursed me for all expenses and took back the board. They seem THIS close to never wanting to deal with this company again though, and I know another store also no longer carries Gigabyte products due to a long standing disagreement.

Another is the M27Q monitor as reviewed and recommended by Techspot (Hardware Unboxed), but for one, BGR matrix, which doesn't always play well with software when you also have an RGB matrix display, for other, I found an unusual number and density of issue reports regarding bad pixels near the corners... Which, OK, but I found one customer review by a person who bought 3 of them for a setup and two of them had large blotches of dead pixels right near one of the bottom corners and I'm thinking, what's that, do they maybe have some sort of manufacturing issue, bad front glass glueup, bad internal construction which exerts pressure? Obviously defects happen, but the problem is, it's Gigabyte we're dealing with, do I really trust them to sort it out? No.

I think I already had in mind how they've been handling the PSU fiasco, by piling more fiasco on top.
