The 2024 ram tailgate is all electronic, could you take the entire mechanical one from a 2016 model and swap it into the 2024 model?

I need to replace just the lock cylinder in my 2018 ram tailgate. The factory key in my FOB stopped working. Does the factory part 68211624aa program itself to your original key when inserted? I don't see that it comes with its own key. Thank you in advance.

My lock mechanism messed up and it wont let the key out as easy anymore it doesnt lock vertically . I am gonna take it apart and fix it.

Why tf would you go to all the trouble to remove the cam and lock cylinder before removing the handle assembly? Just remove the electrical connectors and remove the handle and the cylinder and cam are right there. Easy peezy.
