Another fun fact: Disney had plans in place for a "Snow Queen" adaptation as far back as 1939.

I prefer the direction they went. Having Elsa and Anna be sisters and both be good just nailed in a much stronger lesson for kids.

We need a Frozen: The Multliverse where the "original" story is told

In some universe, our version of Elsa was the original but was changed and people wish to see what this version would be like

To be honest we didn't necessarily need Hans or some villain in general I think it would've been enough if Elsa just went crazy with her powers and was so oberwhelmed that she thought that she is just harming everyone with it and then Anna is there for her and makes her understand that she isn't harming everyone she just needs to control her powers

You forgot to mention that Let It Go was the song that made the creators change their mind on Elsa being the villain.

*In an Alternate dimension*
"Did you know, that Elsa was originally supposed to be the HERO in frozen? That's right! And she actually was also supposed to be Anna's older sis!!"

I don't think Frozen would've been so popular if Elsa was evil. ❄️After Anna saved her from getting killed by Hans she learned that love was the key of controlling her powers. So Frozen was about sister love!

i wish that the frozen team had stuck with their original plan i love frozen but the original story that they came up with sounds better than what we got and i think that Else would have been a very tragic and sympathetic villan she was essentially abused and neglected by her parents and kingdom because of her ice powers.

People always act like this is shocking, but in the ogre story, Hans was Anna's bro and the Snow Queen stole him and turned his heart to ice. People act like this storyline never existed.

I bet if DreamWorks adapted The Snow Queen into a movie, the antagonist would be inspired by Elsa

This is why Hans is such a poorly written villain

Edit: please stop arguing in the replies, I like the film I just personally think Hans was badly written and his character seemed rushed to me, you're all entitled to your own opinion

Tbh Let It Go would have been a fire villain song

It was meant to be something along the lines of:

Anna was a peasant, who had her heartbroken. She went to see the snow queen and asked her to freeze her heart.

That's all I think I know. I'm not sure, this could be wrong

As much as the sisterly love was a refresher from true loves kiss and all that, I genuinely wish Elsa was the villain. It just seems so much more interesting and would make Hans into a better villain himself. Anna would have so much more internal conflict, and Elsa not feeling remorse for her actions would lead to an interesting bout of emotions

Of course, this version of the movie doesn’t exist, so I don’t know if it would actually make for a better movie. But it’s something Id like to see!

😢 why is the original so good tho like its so good i wish they kept the direction as it was

I think it would've worked better if they kept Elsa as the villain. That is a hill i am willing to die on.

It's all about the framing. Imagine you are an ordinary citizen of Arendelle and your newly crowned queen suddenly cast an eternal winter over the town you are living in. Famine is imminent and you fear that your family, your friends and yourself might face starvation in the near future. Then you would most definitely consider Elsa to be a villain. And even after Elsa comes back and restores the weather, that does not make everything okay. You will be aware that you live in a kingdom with a queen that has proven that she will use her powerful magic against her own people when her vulnerable feelings are hurt.
