I really like this idea and I'm definitely looking forward to checking it out.  Although, I admit, that I wish you guys would do something similar with the classes of the game in terms of in-depth explanation.  How does a Druid learn his/her shape-shifting form?  Is it strictly a means of combat, or do the animal totems represent a Druid's step-by-step enlightenment to what "balance" means in regards to the nature of self and the rest of the world?  What's the difference between a student of fire vs a student of frost in terms of Mages in the Kirin Tor?  How are they different; what makes them similar?  How does a Death Knight carve his runes and is there a ritual he undertakes to do so?  This sort of stuff.  The only source of greater information in regards to all this are the RPG books (which I think are really awesome, btw), but since they're considered non-canon they're now irrelevant.  A shame.  Any chance we could see something like this in the future?

What blizzard has here truly is a world. A spectacular, intricate, beatiful world that has been, what? 16 years in the making? From every little piece of quest text, to music and landscapes, to books, to videos, and now a movie. What Blizzard has created here is certanly a world. I hope they know this, because it is really something amazing.

I absolutely love the lore of this game, and although WoD didnt do all that well with the whole gameplay part (aside from the raiding which I didnt get really that far into) but everything else was cool, and MoP was a very nice place that only gets hate because people didnt like kunfu panda

"Lore is very important to us here at Blizzard. Now, here's some space goats, an expansion about pandas for some reason, and an alternate timeline, time jump thing that we have no idea what to do with so we're going to give you one raid patch and sweep everything under the rug."

Dear Mr. Metzen, could you please slap Mr. Afrasiabi across the head with a phonebook and make him retract the statement about Archimonde's cross-dimensional existence? Thanks in advance

You have yet to explain why Grommash became a friend all of the sudden

The new books will cost $60 each, but that only applies to the covers. The pages themselves will be sold in 10-page bundles for $14.99 each (to be released monthly). Entire chapters are subject to cancellation, and the books may be declared "complete" prematurely. Enjoy!

"We've really tried to hone over the years" Well it's been very dull over the years. Time travel? Grom suddenly an ally? PLEASE. The lore is has been a complete wreck for years now. MoP was good though!

As an avid lore fan, I'm REALLY looking forward to this, as well as hopefully many more books of detailed lore in the future. I'm really excited to see what you guys come up with!

I am a big believer in this. Please try to clarify many historical holes and create a singular testament, a Silmarillion of WarCraft! And I would also like you to deeply consider the questionable story descisions you have been making since The Burning Crusade onward. Why did Illidan and Kael'Thas have to go from deep characters into vengeful, cheap villains? Why would you call in Archimonde as an easy beatable entity in patch 6.2 when it took the effort of three races and an immortality to beat him in WC3? Was it necessary to revive Cenarius? Whatever happened to Turalyion since WC2? Who and what are the Titans, the Old Gods, and the Burning Legion and why do they do the things they do? What are the cultural differences between Azeroth and Lordaeron? What are the cultural differences between troll tribes? Why did Me'dan even have to exist? I did like the inclusion of Deathwing and Pandaria though.

Metzen, do not fail us, your fantasy legacy is one of the greatest ever, and my childhood would have been a lot emptier without your beautiful stories.

To retell the epic old warcraft lore in a concise series of books is a better idea than going back in time to experience it again

So much to take in from only the previews. This is going to be awesome!

Chris Metzen states that the lore is an integral part of developing the game.

Warlords of Draenor has determined that is a lie.
