Perfect! I think you are in the right place… because I want to help you to learn English, to acquire English… I want you to listen to English spoken naturally… and to understand English spoken naturally… to listen to English spoken in lots of different contexts! I want you to enjoy English!

I want you to practice listening to English, but to listen to interesting English.

English conversation is often an exchange of stories in English. To have a conversation in English with someone when you travel in English, you need to master “English small talk”. For example, you might need to :
- talk about yourself in English
- talk about family in English
- talk about food in English
- talk about weather in English
- talk about holidays in English
- talk about interests in English
- talk about sport in English

So, I am building my smileEnglishstories YouTube channel, to give you one opportunity to listen to English spoken naturally in lots of different contexts. After all, in England we say, “Variety is the spice of life!”

And I tell you stories in English, because if you listen to interesting stories to learn English, you will be more motivated to listen to English and you will naturally improve your listening comprehension.

I try to use simple English when I make my smileEnglishstories YouTube videos. Simple, but rich in content! That means accessible English for beginners (good beginners), but still interesting English for elementary level and interesting English for intermediate levels.

Good idea to visit different places where we could have a party for Shrove Tuesday, different carnivals
One day I would like to participate in the carnival of Venice, the costumes and the masks are so beautiful !! It is like living in another era. Il have loved particularly the couple dressed in purple and the other dressed in black and gold...fabulous !!!🤩
I think It should not be the same atmosphere, ambience in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro ; more dance, more music, more festive. The biggest party in the world as you said

Thank you for speaking about Rio Janeiro carnival. All carnivals are always beautiful and very colorful and attract a lot of people.
I have been twice in Venice, which is a wonderful town, bur never during the carnival. But because my parents lives in Antibes, I have been gone several times in Nice's carnival with carriage covered with a mountain of flowers.
In France " la chandeleure" it's the time when we are cooking creepes and I have done a lot of creepes for my granddaughters.
When i watch your pictures of costumes in venice, my favorite one is also the lady in blue.

What beautifull costumes!!! i hope i will have the opportunity to go to VENISE in the futur to see thie carnaval and live this special atmosphere.
I really like the couple in dark red dress and gray jacket, i find their costume very original.
