I commonly see people assuming I drive a very expensive car or confused on how electric cars even work. I also am surprised that many still don't understand the clear advantages of electric vehicles so I decided to make a video addressing some of those concerns to further help the education and assistance in transitioning more people to sustainable energy transportation!

6 year Tesla owner here. 254k miles and still original brakes which look they will last at least another 300k miles. Yes maintenance is very low compared to gasoline cars.
On the subject of battery degradation, the oldest batteries from the first Tesla cars delivered are seeing some major issues now. Tesla has crippled these batteries significantly. Supercharge speed is less than half. Range has been reduced 26%! On top of that, charging is now limited to 95-96% (it won't charge higher causing additional range loss). Power is reduced due to lower cell voltage and cooling is much more aggressive causing more energy usage. Tesla is trying to get out of warranty claims by crippling the old batteries that are starting to fail.

I know Tesla doesn't like to advertise but man, this would be a great infomercial for them. Great work and yes the fact no maintenance is fantastic. Just changed my cabin filters and repaired a flat, and that's about it.

Great points. Also, I will add in regard to fuel savings, in Southern California the price per gallon of gasoline (regular) ranges from $3.49 to $4.09 as of this morning so the savings is much higher. Anxiously waiting for my Model 3 this month - fingers crossed.

Great myth busting summary. Great channel. It would have been even better if you mentioned that most EVs have an 8 year battery warranty - Tesla model 3 has an 8 year 120k mile warranty here in the UK. Here in the UK and the rest of Europe fuel prices are a lot higher than America - so electric cars make even more sense.

Another entertaining video Raj. If only there were rebates in Australia too. Notwithstanding, comparing a Model 3 against similar priced BMW 3 I have calculated $2, 000 per year savings, mostly electricity, but also service costs and still taking into consideration insurance is a little more expensive.

Great list of busted myths. However one that is going around here in europe a lot - is that Tesla build quality is quite poor. My own research says that it was true for cars built between 2012-2015 where they have gotten better since.
