The thing about the clear bookbag, though, is that a ton of schools now require students to have them. That rule was put in place in my last few years of school, and I can tell you that I always had a small bag in my bookbag for things I didn't want people to see as, unfortunately, lack of privacy is the whole point of clear bookbags.

I also personally had a problem with my bags constantly coming apart at the seams, I guess because the heavy books I was carrying stretched and eventually ripped the plastic. I had to replace my bookbag multiple times a school year and it always felt so wasteful :(
