I really feel sorry for the people who hear this and have to apply it. Some good points but I think it will be tough to turn it into successful prayers. Incidentally, a lot of things I am asking or thinking of are turning up in my life and it is because of love and devotion to God.

You cannot say that just because you pray, all things are going to be miraculous, or have a miraculous effect. I agree prayer is essential in any believers life. For the past five years I have been asking, praying for the circumstances of my life to be changed. Today I seem to be more depressed than I have ever been. Do I pray? YES! Do I know the true God, His risen Son Jesus and the blessed Holy Spirit? YES! Do I understand why my prayers for change have not taken place? No. The best I understand it is that it's somehow my fault. I mean, it has to be. I'm either not doing or doing something that perhaps hinders His will for my life. Or maybe my prayers are just not within his will. Nor sure. Or maybe this is just 'life' as we know it or it's just His will for my life. I try to adjust my prayers according to the Lords leading and try to move forward, even if it's just to lean but am again flattened as things remain the same and constantly degrade. Watching your loved one decay to disease is absolutely brutal. One thing is for certain, I feel stuck and confused. Since my daughters passing and my wife's degrading health issues, I'm ready for home! Each day I wake up and repeat the motions according to my responsibilities talking to the Lord the entire day. Pray without ceasing! YES! I agree! I am an open book to Him who holds my life in His hands. There is nothing that is hidden from Him. Lord, please help, I am SO ready for home.
