I'm surprised Mutaito is even remembered. He was teaching Roshi when he was still young, and Roshi is around 300-400 years old.

Sure, he sealed the Demon King, but it doesn't seem like Piccolo Daimao was remembered much anyways. When he returned, no one really knew who he was.

Maybe his return prompted investigation into his origins and Mutaito came up as the man who originally defeated him? There obviously was still information left hanging about, because Pilaf was able to learn of him, and find the exact location his rice cooker was left at (in the middle of the ocean).
