Former Tottenham owner Joe Lewis pleads guilty to insider trading charges in US

Former Tottenham Hotspur owner Joe Lewis has admitted to three charges in relation to insider training in the United States.

The 86-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and two counts of security fraud.

He pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of security fraud and two counts of conspiracy, for alleged crimes spanning from 2013 to 2021.

If his shareholding in Spurs has been transferred into a family trust it’s difficult to believe he has no involvement or influence on this shareholding. It’s just not his name on the share certificate and sounds like a tax or inheritance tax workaround to me.

All these comments saying “I told ya he won’t go prison” where that come from in this video? Insider trading in the USA is extremely serious. Senators have gone prison for it. All this guy said is he made a plea deal. Plea deals, gives you a lighter sentence anyway. If he didn’t do a plea deal and goes on trial, he would face about 20-30 years, regardless of money and age. But a plea DEAL along with his age, will be a lighter sentence. I’m no expert of course like all the other comments……but there’s a high chance of a prison sentence, best asmalleronethen everyone wants. Go watch those hip hop videos where those gang bangers rappers get caught doing crimes…..and have a bit more understanding what a plea DEAL is.
