I remember in the dominican republic we made scooters that were powered with rubber bands. You would wind up the rubber bands with a pully and gear and it would stretch them very very tight. We used at least four on the rear wheel ... to release the energy you used a trigger system and you used a brake handle to control the amount of force. It functioned almost like an e-bike but with rubber bands! Eventually we figured out how to wind the rubber bands with the pedals and you could wind the rubber bands and then go ... they became really popular and you would see tons of them on the road during that era .... it was always fun watching how people came up with inventions to harness the power of energy .

This wheel takes me back 60-65 years, when my brother and I cobbled together our toys or just entertainment on the farm. These guys should be an inspiration to anyone who is bitching about not being handed the latest i phone. Good show. Thank you.

As a craftsman and fabriator I gotta say, bravo to them. Use what you got, make what you need. Love it.

Imagine how many people or businesses rely on the speed and efficiency of these hand made bike creations. The difference between an hour travel to carry 20 kegs of water, or a whole day to go back and forth doing it by hand. Major salute and respect!

The bikes look like they came out from "The Flistones". Fascinating

Sungguh kreatif orang Kongo membuat skuter dari bahan kayu. Patut diacungi jempol kreativitas mereka membuat hasil karya walaupun sederhana.

Изготовление большого деревянного самоката, это конечно, высокие технологии плюс ручная сборка. Но парни на мотоциклах, перевозчики бревен это настоящие каскадёры.

Watching those fellas on those old motorbikes carrying that wood up hill, definitely made me wonder why I ever complained about my flt work in the warehouses 😂, those boys are hard workers for sure, kudos to them. ❤

Those tiny little 2strokes hauling those logs up the hill is amazing and just shows how much energy is stored in petrol.

I remember seeing their home made airplanes a couple years ago. Looks like they came out of the same factory.

That truck driver was amazing, he really knows the limitations of his equipment. Reminds me of my days setting modular homes, trying to get five or six 70 foot trailers and a crane down a quarter mile of dirt road we just cleared. Where there's a will there's a way.
