It’s amazing that there are channels like these which cater to my niche interests, and not to mention the fact that i can essentially get full quality professional lectures for free.

Hello Illinois EnergyProf,
Could you enable community contribution to subtitles?
I would like to show some of your videos to some other people but they cannot understand English very well so I would like to add a translation.
Anyway I LOVE your videos, I mean it is said that you only really understand something when you can explain it and it show in your passion an presentation and it enables people who do not necessarily have a background in this field to understand what you are talking about.

I am looking forward to your new content and whish you the best of luck o/

Wow, just wow. Love your vids, and I'm a crusty 44 year year old Brit, living and working in Norway. Really happy to know there are educators like you out there and so happy to be enthused to keep learning as an adult. You have some lucky students :-)

Given the clarity of the explanations, we have recommended these videos to many without physics or even science backgrounds. And for those with backgrounds, the videos spark thoughts of how to better articulate the concepts quickly and accurately to others. This is a really great channel -- the professor obviously loves the topic and has what it takes to get people interested in science. The comment I just saw is absolutely correct - "It’s a good use of my time." And there's always something new to learn about a topic.

You explain things in depth, without considering the viewer an idiot just like most scientific channels here on You Tube, a hug from Brazil.

I'm an NSE student at a quiet but exceptionally well funded university. I really appreciate the outreach that your videos have generated. I am working towards my degree such that I can participate in the development of the various forms of molten salt reactors. If you could touch on the future pathways of nuclear in your future content, you would steal all of my future interest in watching YouTube.

A particular suggestion, one that I have found interesting to study, is a size/expense/power output comparison of molten salt vs PWR/LWR reactor tech when the need for a steam explosion containment dome is eliminated. Theoretically, a smaller confinement structure designed to withstand plane impacts, a smaller reactor that doesn't require a pressure vessel, and perhaps small high efficiency supercritical CO2 turbines, could really change the economics of nuclear power. You probably have more data for cost of energy comparisons than I do. Any input from you on this subject would fascinate me. I would hazard a guess that the broader nuclear community at large would take note too.

Finding this channel a few weeks ago has been one of the best things of 2019 for me.
Thank you for sharing this information with the world.

Excellent work Prof ! Bridging the gap between the science and *the public understanding of the science* is the BEST work you can be doing!

Watching your videos all the way from Australia, amazing and articulate content please keep it coming! I hope one day we go down the nuclear route.

I am going to watch every damn one of them. This material should be REQUIRED for every U.S. kid going through high school. Put an end to scientific illiteracy and unfounded superstitions!!! I want to be you Prof! Sometime you gotta let me tell you about my high school chem teacher, Kelssen Harvey. He REALLY liked to blow things up !!! Got me hooked on science.
