This video made me Cry. My daughter has had reactions like this her whole life. We never knew what it was called, we just thought she was allergic to the bug bites. Bug sprays never work, nothing does. I am so sorry your little one has to go through this. Sending prayes and well wishes

Love it when we let professionals explain things that should be left to professionals. 👌

My whole life I’ve had skeeter syndrome, and I felt like I was always the only one! I hate seeing other poor kids have it, because it really sucks, but at the same time I feel like more people are talking about it, which is so refreshing.

Glad to see someone talking about this. I’m an adult who got diagnosed last year with Skeeter Syndrome after wondering why I’ve had severe reactions my whole life.

I had that as a kid! Once got three bites on each ankle and couldnt walk for two days. I grew out of it as Dr Rubin said, so I hope the boy child gets less reactive as he grows up. My sympathies, kid.

Always love when someone will pass the mic to the one who actually knows what they're talking about. Thank you! <3

I wear pants, mosquito bracelets, & repellent to protect myself. Mosquitoes aren’t just around in the summer months anymore. I stay ready all year long!!! If you place the mosquito bracelets back in their packaging, they last for weeks & they’re waterproof. It’s serious enough that I wear one on my neck, one on each wrist, & one on each ankle in order to not be miserable from mosquito & fly bites.

Omg my son has always had reactions like this. So thankful you shared this video. When he gets bit by mosquitos the bumps literally gets to the diameter of a lemon. I didn’t know there was an actual diagnosis for this. Thank you for sharing.

As an 35 year old adult that finally diagnosed two years ago, I think you for bringing awareness. But it sucks😢

I had this! My mom had a hard time with people making assumptions. I was in Girl Guides and camped constantly, so lots of bites. My feet would swell so much shoes didn't fit, or the backs of my thighs would turn black and blue. So you can imagine what people may have thought was going on.

I still often react like this to the first mosquito bites of the year. It definitely has gotten better as I got older.

As a teen who just found out she had this about three days ago after getting 20+ mosquito bites I relate with your kid and wish him well this couldn't have come at a better time

That used to happen to my son too. Luckily his reaction to bug bites did become less severe over time but I actually never heard that term. That’s cool to hear it explained better than just allergic reaction or overreaction. I used lots of otc cream and benedryl over the years lol.

Aww, poor kid. This used to happen to me and my oldest daughter. Sometimes they were the size of golf balls, and once I had one get to baseball size. We both mostly grew out of it. I hope he does too. ❤

omgg, THANK YOU!!! people always thought i was crazy when i said i was “allergic” to mosquito bites, but istg mine didn’t look like anyone else’s 😭😭 i’m 19, and though they aren’t as severe as they used to be, they still get pretty big and painful. thank god i never had it serious, cause i would have never known they could get infected…

My best friends daughter had this. Its been 20 years since I've seen this.
First time I was there and we truly thought that she had mumps or something. They were larger than a quarter.
I went with mom to the hospital immediately and it was mosquito bites. We honestly didn't believe it at first.
Poor little guy. Hope he healed up well..

My kids have skeeter syndrome and were diagnosed 2 years ago. I had to have a doctor's note so that Repellent could be applied before recess. The school did not believe me until my son got a bite on his forehead and the swelling went all the way down to his eyes.
