Exercise Thunder Rage

Soldiers from the 3rd Brigades, 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment deployed to the Townsville Field Training Area in June to conduct Exercise Thunder Rage.

The Exercise challenges Sappers to apply their technical skills in a tactical environment, using armoured vehicles, explosives and light machinery to construct and destroy field defences.

Elements of Exercise Thunder Rage were integrated within the 4th Regiment, The Royal Australian Artillery’s Exercise Chau Pha, allowing both Regiments to witness and better understand how their roles and specialist capabilities interact during a combined arms obstacle breach.

Car is short for carrier. The vehicle is an armoured personnel carrier

Remember the old days the Infantry Bn Pioneers did this tactically, crawl in on there guts and place charges or Bangalores withdrawal and then carry out the breach.

Or just go SF and do a dems cse. Demolitions, urban breaching plus all the other SF fruit. Loved my dems time. One of my best skillsets, really enjoyed running dems courses.
