I subscribed to your channel 2 yrs ago when you first bought the GTI. You’ve always been down to earth and super honest with yourself and the people who follow you. Keep it up man! I’m sure you’re gonna find the car you really want very soon!

Good decision.
I sold my manual g80 m3 after 1 year ownership. Lost about 10k. Reason selling is BMW manual feels sluggish. I feel G80 generation M cars are designed to have automatic transmissions, if I were to buy m3 again it world be the competition

Honestly I just bought a 22 Golf R DSG Lapiz in immaculate condition 3k miles bone stock for 37k in cash from a private seller. The older gentleman said I’d rather someone enjoy the car than a dealer profit off this car, so I got the cash and took it. The funny part is Carmax offered 40.4k for this car when I entered the VIN so I could have flipped it for a profit, but no. This car is amazing!

Agreed on the brain damage with selling private 😂😂. You made a good call. Clearly not worth keeping any longer if you’re not happy with it.

This RS3 is king when it comes to holding its value ! The only thing better is a Porsche 911!

I really appreciate your honest insight regarding the RS3. This car was way up there on my list. I test drove a Mk8 Golf R with DSG yesterday and I was blown away with how enjoyable that car is to drive and while it isn't a cheap car by any means, the almost $20, 000 price difference between the R and RS3 is kind of insane. I certainly get that the RS3 is the more special car with the widebody and that badass 5 cylinder, but that price gap is SUPER difficult to justify, especially when you take into account the functionality of the R and the fact that the R holds its value pretty damn well in its own right. Looking forward to seeing what's coming next!

Dang this is totally my concern. RS3 is an attainable dream tier car for me and Im worried the exact same thing would happen. Granted I dont also have a M2 but I want a good all around daily that can also handle some winter/snow duty and get decent MPG.

From your other video going over how much you paid for it vs how much you have just got for it- winner! I was worried you were gonna get burnt worse than that. Most of us car guys/girls have lost money on cars. No point having all that money tied up in something not giving you the driving pleasure back 👌🏼

I'm in the same boat as you right now. Dreamed of owning a V8 Mustang since I was in my early teens, finally got myself into one and I just.... Don't love it like I thought I would. I miss my GTI that I was in before, 2 months old, 2000 miles on it. Although I haven't as much success as you, most places offering me 10k lower than what i owe when they're still selling pretty high, so I just have to suck it up and stick with it for a bit till I can get a better number closer to what i owe.

I did check out Carbuyer as well because of your video and they actually offered the highest of any of the other places I checked, so good to keep them in mind for later!

Edit - Actually I checked out your what you paid video as well and it looks like you did take a decent hit, I just really don't want to roll over that much equity into a GTI, then I'm paying mustang prices for a GTI :(

Very good decision! Selling newer more expensive cars privately is definitely more trouble than its worth!
Selling private is great for older cars (enthusiast appreciate) that are hardly anything wholesale dealer trade and but worth a lot more privately...

you honestly made out well because the RS3 retains value so well, selling most cars after 2 months is like a 10k hit in most cases lol. and yeah this car is way too nice to sell private. its a headache doing that even for cheap cars

I'm so happy daily driving my m2. And my second choice was always rs3. Interesting you got rid of rs3. The other car I would get is a Lexus LC500. It's highly reputable

Haven’t seen any new RS3s in the $60s in my area. I couldn’t configure one that cheap neither. 🤷‍♂️

I came for the Mustang 3 years ago. Looking forward to your next purchase!

Wow, you sold it so quickly.
I sold mine after 3 months. :)
It was last year and I made 10k AUD profit. I don’t feel it is engaging as the gpf is attached.
After I sold this I was looking to buy M2 but it was so expensive. The M2 got cheaper so I am considering to get the M2, now.
