I love how Merryweather's videos always are a coin toss between "the ending is super wholesome" or "the ending is some serious mindfuckery". No inbetween.

Some interesting facts about that mural:
Goya was almost deaf and going a bit mad at the time he made those works.
It was painted at the wall of the dining room in his house.
It's part of a series of 14 murals with very dark themes, a combination of he losing faith in humanity after a failed revolution and being witness of the Spanish Inquisition plus his own fear of madness and isolation.
Said murals weren't commissioned- he didn't show them to anyone, so those were found after his death.
Some have multiple layers of work over the same area, sometimes covering a finished mural with a new one.

honestly the picture never felt horrifying to me, it always struck me as i don't know the right word. pitiable? pathetic?
Saturn is a god an all powerful being
yet the prophecy that one of his son being the one to kill him ravaged him with so much fear that it lowered him, made him less then a god, less then a man. More akin to a beast
the eyes and the way his eyebrow have been painted. Wide eyed with the inner eyebrows going upwards not downwards
he is looking at you and you are looking at him, like a child who is caught in the middle of the night trying to get a cookie from the cookie jar,
he is caught and he is ashamed, except unlike a child who was just breaking the rules. He was caught disregarding everything that makes him who he is as a god doing an action that even animals won't do just to ensure that he won't die
Saturn is pathetic in this picture, and he knows he is seeing you as you know this
just put your thumb to the screen and obscure the bottom half of saturns face so you only see his eyes and forehead

ah the dreaded potato chips bag, whenever some people try to open it (myself included) they went to war with it trying to open it to a point that you have to use your teeth to force it open until your friend/family member/lover take it off your hands and easily open it without trouble xD

I have personally seen a baby calf being ripped apart by a pack of coyotes. There was nothing I could have done to prevent the attack as I was a child of 6 years old. The pure brutality of nature was on display for me to visualize and acknowledge. For the calf, life was taken away too soon. For the coyotes life was given for them to live another day. My life was forever changed that day. With the cackles of the coyotes over voicing the calf's wails being the only solace I had that morning. The rest of the heard unbotherd still eating out in the field silently accepting the reality of the world even though they could have intervened with their numbers being twice of that of the coyotes. Remembering that only makes me view the current society we have in the same light. Nothing more than a copy of that herd of cattle, choosing to be blind to the darkness than to step in to bring light to a grim situation. Let happen the unfortunate to other, than onto me. The societal self motto. None can say they have never thought this way no matter the class or age.
