I've Never Seen Snow Like This. Snow Truck Camping In The Coldest Weather We Have Seen.

Snow camping is always tough, but this was next level for us. The low temps and high elevations are something that we don't get exposed to much here in Washington state. Idaho is beautiful, remote and kind of dangerous, but it was the perfect setting for a humbling camping trip in the snow. Huge thanks to @outdoorauto and @muddybeards for joining me on this crazy adventure. Finding friends that are willing to camp in -5°F is more difficult than you might think! Enjoy the video!

Nate, I absolutely love the balance of shop videos and getting outside videos. Great work! Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. 👍🏻❤️🇺🇸

Chains are great for the hard stuff like frozen hard pack, ice, or when you can dig through the snow down to the ground under it otherwise they chew through the soft stuff and leave you hanging on the frame...
You are very fortunate to have friends to go with in the cold of winter, great video as always 👍

The wide variety of different vehicles you have on this channel makes it so enjoyable to watch. I am a Jeep guy but I like seeing all off-road vehicles

Chains have their place, but only when you are trying to reach the bottom for traction.Love your videos

One tip I have, when resorting to the big full throttle huck when braking trail, keep your hand on the shifter, grab neutral as soon as you are stopped or even just before. This negates the spring effect of the torque converter which kinda unloads as you spin out causing you to dig in and need to get pulled out.

I'm from scandinavia, the idea of using chains on loose snow is alien to me, especially in cold powder that doesn't compact very well. They're only ever used on ice, or hard packed snow with a vehicle heavy enough to get traction.

The more of these four-wheel drive in the snow videos that I see

The more snow I end up with in my yard for some reason

Idaho is not the only place that has dry, cold snow. Pretty much the entire length of the Rockies is the same. I lived at 9, 000 feet in Colorado for 32 years and I never owned a snow shovel. I just used a broom to get the snow off my deck.

Sub-zero snow = best snow. Even ice starts to get some traction back the further below 0 you get. As a trucker, I'll take super cold temps all day. Second best only to Summer conditions. I run Montana twice a week every week, spend more time there than at home. Not uncommon to be pushing fresh snow without a plow in sight.

Snow/ice near that 32f mark just becomes nightmare fuel.

We're watching as a family from North Dakota and we are laughing our butts off at you guys complaining about the cold and the sugar snow. 😂 Keep putting out the entertaining videos and we will keep watching.

Please bring the Disco on every adventure until it breaks. That’s my favorite of all these vehicles!
