Out of all the self serve car washes I've seen I would have to say this one tops the list simply because of how dangerous it can be. What a great location it's on and once fixed up I can se huge potential to run a successful car wash business.

After working for my Uncle for 2 years at he's car washes I really wanted my own and I came across this car wash. It was completely shutdown for many years so I approached the owner of the land and made a deal with him.

It took me 6 weeks to bring it back to life and open it and now the customers are starting to pour in. Not to mention I opened it during winter so I am yet. to see its full potential but here's a small taste of how its going so far!

Show us the process you go through to get ahold of the owner of that car wash and chronicle it. It would be great content. Great channel. keep going

The old machine was an Autec system. You should buy this, tear it down, and build an express wash on the lot. Big opportunity to build an express wash, that can make so much more money than self serve washes.

Tucson native campbell is a rough area of town for it is certainly a busy road as its a huge through way from the south side to the north side...i work at the banner hospital just north of here on Ajo which also serves a huge mental health population for wouldnt be surprised if it closed just because people stopped feeling safe enough to stop and use it

If you can manage to get it. Best of luck refurbishing it. I would try and redo the water ice vending machine also. As someone who travels it is nice to see a self service water refill station like this. You could charge 50 cents a gallon for the water. The ice I am not sure of pricing.

Last week I've seen a car wash in Germany, that's been stripped down like the one shown here... only the base building is still standing and used as a carport. It's been part of a gas station next to it (the gas station went out of service a few years ago, the gas pumps and the automatic car wash got ripped out and the main building is used as a storage unit.

There are videos of when this was was open. The first bay was an AUTEC Evolution, while the second bay was an AUTEC AES-425. Sad to see that it closed down, it was a very nice wash when it was open!

That's the old Prescott car wash. Good luck getting in contact with the ( scumbag ) owner... he started doing credit fraud ( charging $10 when the display showed $4.75, that kind of thing ) and might be rotting in jail.

Building infrastructure is usually the biggest cost so having that paid for is a big plus.

I looked into an in-bay automatic at my Denver area self-serve. With all the infrastructure updates needed (heated entry and exit lanes, drainage problem mitigation, longer bay walls and roof, bay doors, 3-phase power drop, etc.), the contractor estimated $600k to $1M ... then add the in-bay equipment for $200-400k, depending on type. I pee'ed my pants.

This place in Tucson has the building and other infrastructure in place, just add equipment. It's a better deal to get up and running but the area may have a lot of sketchy folks, per other comments here, nearby mental hospital and all... Fry's and Walmart are good neighbors but you might want to build a live-in apartment for a 24/7 guard/attendant. Arizona firearm laws are wide-open, constitutional carry, unlike Australia!

Why lease that one when you could buy and own it cheaply? would it make more sense to buy it out at that point?

Would you mind making a series on how to obtain a car wash like. Like, would you call the city records office give them the address see who the owner is how you approach etc. I think most of us would enjoy something like that. I know I’m looking for a car wash my first one so I’d like to get some more education behind it.

I know the owner personally, we tried to buy the place before, he won’t budge.
