Parkinson's and Daily Life

Показать описание
Most of us take shopping, a walk in the park, household chores or even brushing our teeth for granted. But for more than 80,000 Australians living with Parkinson's, these simple daily activities can be beyond their reach.
Some 80,000 Australians are living with the disease. Other estimates put the figure as high as 110,000, with fears the figures will blow out as the population ages.
The most common age of diagnosis is 65, while 20 per cent of cases diagnosed are under fifty and 10 per cent are younger than 40.
In 2014 the prevalence of Parkinson’s outstripped that of many cancers including breast cancer, leukaemia and lung cancer.
