Carjackers target, off-duty Chicago police officer, get into shootout on South Side

An off-duty Chicago police officer, who an alderman said may have been the target of an attempted carjacking, was involved in a shootout Tuesday morning in the Morgan Park neighborhood.

This is why stealing or possessing a stolen vehicle needs to be penalized severely. criminals use stolen vehicles to commit more crimes. Therefore, a stolen vehicle is a tool for criminals.

If cars are used in most of these crimes, wouldn't it make sense to ban cars? Driving isn't even a protected right, and wouldn't infringe.

I'm glad none of the neighbors or their families were harmed. Beverly/Morgan Park has always been a gem of the South Side. I hope the neighborhood gets back to the quiet peace that it's known for.
