The ways the Ice Climbers and King Dedede failed were just sad.
ICs failed because they can't be teleported at the same time.
King Dedede failed because the gap from the cannon was too small.

There were two very predominant points of failure - the initial jump and the ascent to the cannon. The interesting cases are those who failed elsewhere.
Mii Swordfighter, Cloud, and Min Min were the only ones to fail the first drop.
Ice Climbers and Byleth were the only ones to fail the second teleporter.
Game & Watch, Snake, Mega Man, and King K. Rool were the only ones to fail at the incline.
King Dedede was the only one to fail literally the cannon itself.
Wario was the only one to fail the post-cannon section. (Could the bike not be resummoned there? I believe it does despawn automatically and can thus be recharged.)

Mii gunner could possibly make it. You just need to equip the absorb down b. Then use it quickly after jumping to gain extra height with it.
