Black & Decker Battery Charger Plug Replacement

I have been using this Black and Decker around one and half year. Suddenly the charger is fail to charge the battery, this force me to find a solution to get my hand drill work again. From Youtube I found this movie clip to inspired me to get this thing fix.

So I decided to find a power plug and replace it, then my hand drill can use it again. I try to look at the similar voltage and current power plug as the black and decker original one; I found a power plug which is 12V Direct Current and 400mA, which is a good solution for the replacement.

The cables of the charger are both complete black. How do you know the positive & negative lines??
