Queen’s funeral arrangements revealed by Buckingham Palace

The Queen's state funeral is designed to be a "fitting tribute to an extraordinary reign" - according to the Duke of Norfolk who will take charge of the occasion.

Buckingham Palace has released more details of Monday's events - from the official service attended by world leaders and heads of state, to the procession back to Windsor for a far more private burial service later that evening.

But today is still very much about the public's chance to pay their respects.

People are still filing past the Queen's coffin inside Westminster Hall - while outside, the queue along the Thames has been getting steadily longer.

The government's queue-tracker a short time ago showed it was around 4.9 miles long.

96 years is a LONG time to be the living breathing example of what a British citizen should be; 70 of which as the personification of that ideal. I hope she and Prince Philip are enjoying being Phil and Liz now, and she can be a just a regular lady, living in the country with lots of horses and dogs. Rest in peace.

This mostly Brit-American whose forebears fought in the Revolutionary War and came from the UK. England, Scotland and Ireland in 1721 will miss her! She was the epitome of a near perfect Queen and rarely if ever "put a wrong foot forward" per Piers Morgan! I'm the same age as King Charles born in 1948, post WW2 and feel I've waited just as long as he has to ascend to the throne! 'God Save the King" and a slimmed down more modern monarchy! From Yankee New England where we still have strong ties to the UK, our motherland ever since the 1600s/1700s, our American Revolution and our Independence in 1776! Just 246 years ago, in the time frame of 1000 years, really not that long ago when you look at those numbers! Cheers~ to our allies across the "Big Pond"! Beautiful to see the Brits paying their respect and homage to their beloved great queen of 70 long years!! May she rest in peace, sincere condolences to the UK ~❤💙🍺🌈
