Track 9 from their fourth album "Drugstore Dancer" released in 1980 copyright Capitol Records. This was their first release for Capitol after being with Atlantic when they started and Warner Bros. Records previously. The band was at the top of their game and I'm surprised the album wasn't more successful. It was recorded at Century 21 Studios in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was their first to be produced by the band themselves. I'd say they did a great job. Recorded from the original vinyl. Written by Daryl Gutheil & Streetheart and produced by Streetheart. RIP Kenny Shields. Featuring:

Kenny Shields - Lead vocals
John Hannah - Lead & rhythm guitars & background vocals
Daryl Gutheil - Keyboards & background vocals
Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve - Bass
Herb Ego - Drums

Here we go

I was alright but I had to get away
It's hard to face the day waitin' for a showdown
I was OK, it's more than I could take
Let me go, I wanna go, let me go, go, go, yeah

I was alright until I stumbled in to see
Yeah, I was ripped as I could be, flirtin' with a breakdown
I was OK, I need you to lead the way
Let me go, I wanna go, let me go, go, go, yeah

I like to have my fun and I like to mess with guns
But I would appreciate if you would (slow down)
I'll be here, alright, I just need some sleep tonight
Let me go, I wanna go, let me go, go, go, yeah
Ooh
Hey
Oh, yeah, yeah

I like to have my fun and I like to mess with guns
But I would appreciate if you would (slow down)
Oh, yeah, alright, I have to get away
It's hard to face the day flirtin' with a breakdown, yeah
I'll be here, alright, I'll get some sleep tonight
Let me go, I wanna go, let me go, go, go
Let me go, let me go, let me go, go, go, yeah
I wanna go, lemme go, let me go, go, go, yeah, hey
