i'm so glad there's so many like-minded people in the comments here, this song has retained it's position as my absolute favourite song ever.
it may not be the most instrumentally compelling piece of music ever created but it's TK's raw emotion conveyed both sonically and through the instrumental to such a scale that it always strikes me right into my soul and resonates with me like nothing else ever has.
the classic TK falsetto singing over such a melancholic, frustrated guitar and bass really there's very little music like this that has been able to make me feel so comfortable wallowing in my own sadness, especially when the climax hits and we get those drums brought way up in the mix with the crazy distortion on the guitar, man...

Cold and creepy, odd and dissonant. I remember the first time I heard this song, the first part was this haunting dreamlike state, the second part I had a weird introspective, almost existential moment even. When the song ended, I felt like woke up again. You don't just see this world, you feel it.

After discovering the existence of a longer version of this song, I stumbled upon it on YouTube, and it truly offers something different from the short version. I now understand the reviews that describe the intense emotions evoked by the second part of the song. It just hits differently.

This newfound revelation served as inspiration for one of the dreams that the protagonist experiences in my fanfiction. I imagine the first part of the song is his expression of longing for another person, and the second part is the dream he had. Now I'm looping this song and hope that I could grasp the song more.
