Everyone asking the wrong questions all the time...it really shouldn't matter what someone else thinks you should learn..you're the person ultimately responsible. Learning to be a developer isn't simply just about learning a language. I've been doing this a long time and some of you seem to treat it like trying to pick the color of your next vehicle.

My thing is I started learning to code with python and then moved over to html css and js. I honestly found python a bit more confusing than js. that might be because I already knew about variables Boolean etc. from python. now my problem is that i don't feel that python has been integrated into the web dev world enough to replace php so now I'm on to learning php in the future and forget about python. arrggg!!

Honestly I find PHP much easier to learn than js. Js I have found more annoying.
A huge section of the internet (WordPress etc.) uses php

While I'm not a developer yet and I know a great deal of html / css. I've always struggled with JS. It's not that it's hard for me. More so learning the fundamentals are boring so I struggle to stay engaged but I keep trying. Hoping to make it through this time.

not every company uses jquery, but every company uses javascript.

I don't agree that learning js is hard. personally for me it was assembly but to each his own I guess.
