Nintendo clearly wants to be more than just a video game company, which they stated in the past, I think Alarmo is just a first taste of what will come. I also see them moving into wellness tech, their fitness games for exercise and now this to promote good sleep. Given their main bread and butter isn’t exactly a physical hobby maybe they do want to help promote healthy life styles. I wouldn’t be surprised if a future fitness game has a pedometer type accessory to track activity away from the game.

Props for mentioning the Meteoritic scores definitely matter. I don't think FF7R really has much 'brand value' anymore, and since it didn't really sell well, I don't think it's going to do much at the awards.

AstroBot FEELS like the start of an awesome IP for Sony (thought it really started a few years ago), and that's why I think it'll win, though its sales were awful. AB's bad sales may really help Metaphor F. If Atlus decides to actually advertise the game, it might actually sell well too.

I would say Black Myth Wukong is frontrunner for Game of the year. Space Marine 2 could also be nominated.

the game deserves GOTY, but looking at the steam player count i'm not sure Atlus did a great job with marketing and coverage.

I think it has a shot but the one everyone leaving out of debates is Wukong.

Its a hard one, couldn't call the GOTY's.

One one hand you have a really fun super tight platformer but they had a good base to build from with Playroom and it doesn't do anything revolutionary in terms of platformers, but it does do what it set out to do really well. And then you have a character and story driven JPRG where if the story/characters can grab you and make you feel stuff, make you reflect that's potentially more powerful than a really good platformer.

Ahh yes Astro Bot. The best Nintendo, ahem, er I mean PS game on PS. Time draws near for me to delve into Refantazio! I’m glad an alarm clock comes on my iPhone already. I do remember the old days with those ghetto alarm clocks. I don’t think my family could afford the deluxe ones.

Black Myth?.. Haven't played any of these games except MR - Demo. BMW has had the best social coverage by far. Until Metaphor atleast....

It has to be FF7, Metaphor or Astrobot.... anything else would be an insult to FF, Sega/Atlus and platformers.
