Christmas 2020 update: Came back to this video again this year and just now detached two sectional pieces and a the corner section. All came apart on the first try. Key things to do: Have someone sit on the part you are detaching from. Stand behind the section you want to remove, pull back, and then lean it left. It'll pop right off. All three pieces came off on the first try this year!!!

Every Christmas I have to come back to this video to be reminded of how to break apart our RTG sectional to put up our tree. This method really does work but if you have it on a flat surface (Wood, Tile, etc.) then you'll need an adult to sit on the section that you are trying to detach from. This will keep it from moving. What used to take an hour of frustration I knocked out in 5 minutes using this method.

New couch 2022 with similar brackets from Nebraska furniture mart. For me, I had to grab a firm hold on top of chair, pull up, back then left. This got it out for me. To reassemble, line the notches up and wiggles it in.

Such ashame, this is my exact couch but definitely does not come apart that easily and I'm a power lifter at that. The angle you need to get at to remove it is so awkward and it doesn't help when it's in a conventional setting like near the walls of your living room unlike a wide open show room.

I want to remove the center console of my loveseat if I take it apart as you did will I be able to put the two ends together without the drink holder

I tried this on the center console and it’s not budging raymore and Flanagan said someone can come out to show me but I have to wait 3 weeks. When they deliver it today they said your all set but didn’t go over anything I can’t do anything with this thing no way it comes apart as simple as that

Not helpful to me. I’ve spent almost an hour and I’m still can’t disconnect the first peice. I’m a small women and now my back is destroyed and I still can’t move my couch to clean underneath it
