Location-based Notification w/ NodeRED + Home Assistant + Life360

Since I switched to the Blue, MrsZzs and the kids said they miss the notification they used to get when I left work and was heading home. Let's re-create that notification, this time in Node RED.

You should have a look at the Geofence node in node red. It's a preinstalled node and it lets you draw a polygon area.

the problem I'm having with the device tracker/person tracking on iOS companion app, is it doesn't update. Which seems to be iOS not allowing the HA app to run in the background or something. Anyone found a way around this?

Haven't finished watching the livestream yet, but out of curiosity, what are the benefits of using home assistant over say the native features in Alexa? From what I've seen so far you're able to program multiple conditions, but it looks like you're able to do the same with Alexa natively? Am I missing something?
