2021 Live Review 5 | AP Chemistry | Understanding Acid-Base Equilibrium

In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP Chemistry, we will discuss relationships between acid-base parameters such as acid-dissociation constant (Ka), base-dissociation constant (Kb), pH, pOH, concentration, percent dissociation, and acid or base strength.

We will employ quantitative reasoning and argumentation skills to rank various acids and bases on different criteria. We will review various representations including particle diagrams, net ionic equations, and titration curves, and practice translating between them. Then we will do AP-style free-response questions related to the most challenging topics, including weak acid-base equilibria, titration, and buffers, and examine the question rubrics to learn the essential components of successful answers.
