Thank you, Nigel! The mutual dialogue helped in ways you can't imagine. Hearing someone being coached in real-time made me feel like I was with you. If you could do this a couple of times a year, it would be pure gold!

Bravo to Matt for being brave enough to take this on knowing the world gets to see it. Bravo to Nigel for doing this.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and as always I come away from an ND video having learned something.

This video was so nice, Nigel this is really a gem because the tips you give whilst at the same time listening to the explanation of the beginner is so important. You re not patronising like so many are when they give tips and that really shows who you are as a person. I think you have a great series with this subject on cooperating with begginers because we (those who watch your videos) kind of identify ourselves so much with being a beginner and seeing you in real life situation being so patient and listening to the ideas of the beginner is just amazing. I dont really shoot landscapes but your tips overall have helped me a lot in cityscapes and street scenes. Lovely video Nigel! Have a lovely day!

This was fun. Maybe an episode with someone even more of a "beginner". I think Matt is really beyond that level don't you think?! He knows a lot already. And having said that, I'll pick his as my favorite!!

Interestingly I run a community based photography program where I teach young people with anxiety depression and other issues Photography it's very gross roots kind of stuff and not technical and essentially what we do is take young people out into the environment so that they can feel calm and peace by peace we teach them Photography. I've been doing this program in Western Australia for quite awhile now as I am in a addictions counsellor by day but I also enjoy my photography professionally but I wanted to get back this giving Back process is teaching other people.

Broke my heart when he said, I don't do panos as there are nowhere to show them on social media, curse you social media... Enjoyed the conversation and suggestions in todays video. Keep these types of videos coming.... you might have found a costar.

Love this idea, and he will remember this forever. I really do like both photos, but if I had to pick one, it would be yours, Nigel.
I know you ask for an idea....how about shooting in the afternoon... and working with the challenge of bad light. The reason is that you can't always go out to take pictures in perfect light, but you want to get out there. Just an idea.
Thanks again for all that you do! I have learned so much from you!

Great video, Matt is a natural presenter! I’d really like to see some videos where you go to flat rural locations and challenge yourself to some difficult situations of that nature….

A fun and interesting episode! A replay with Matt in the woods would be fun to see. You are good with the details Nigel. I think Matt was satisfied and learned something.

This is a brilliant concept for a video. Having Matt as the "beginner" really created a sense of engagement and I learned quite a lot. Thanks :)

Great video. I would actually love to see more of this exact thing - just in different types of locations - maybe a city one, or maybe one at a park, etc. This was _very_ helpful! I would also love to see a similar style video, but focused around getting the exposure settings for the scene - eg: aperture, shutter speed, and ISO - and your thoughts behind _why_ the certain settings were picked. As a beginner, that’s one of the things I’m always wrestling with - intentional settings in manual - and how they _interplay_ with the outcome of the shot

Nigel, More videos on printing please. Paper choices, printer choices, ICC profiles, etc. As you mentioned in the video, people don't print nearly enough any more and you doing a video talking about why you print may encourage some of your viewers to start. Rock edited out

As others have said, this is excellent. More please. Taking someone new to printing through the basics would be useful. I thought Matt’s print was awesome.

For me it's one of your best videos, I liked the way you gave constructive advice without been too critical of Matt's ideas.

I would, like to see you do a video on somewhere you haven't been before and give advice on how you decide a composition and maybe do something out of your usual comfort zone..

Ps I preferred your photo over Matt's

Great work, keep it going Nigel....

Nigel I really like this type of format . Combination informal conversation ( interview style)/ teaching and hands on which comes quite close to the experience those who come in workshops with you experience but allows your viewers to get the one on one feel of teaching at home ! Well done my friend 😍

That was a super idea and super interesting to watch. And very nice to see the location, the work and the thinking regarding the composition and the edit work. Liked the format of the video. Nice.

This was incredibly helpful! The positive interaction between Nigel and Matt, and the tips and tricks on what to look out for in the field to make compositions just that little bit better.... a great format!
Thanks also to Matt for taking up the challenge!

Many thanks to both of you!

Great video - nice to see someone working with APS-C gear (because a $1000 lens costs more than my camera and five lenses put together).

I’m a great admirer of black & white photography, and I’d love to see a video on the best ways to go about shooting with that specifically in mind, or perhaps when a photo is better off in color, and when it might be better to go monochromatic.

And yes, your vertical shot with the separation of the fence from the background. Sans rock.

I really enjoyed this episode! It’s so helpful and entertaining to watch you interacting with your guest photographer… something other channels haven’t picked up on YET. Great content!
