Oh wow, this is so very sad. God bless, protect and rescue the people of Iceland that need to evacuate. Looks like some lovely countryside and homes. Condolences to the people that will be effected, I am so very sorry.

Being a new person to California, we live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, we experienced a small earthquake a few days ago, it was about a 2-3 magnitude and it really shook me up. I lived in Brooklyn NY most of my life so not used to feeling the earth move under my feet. Hmm isn’t that a song?

Fire and Ice. Two elements you don't want to play with. 🙏

When you know the earth breaths. How awesome, but also how scary. Hoping everyone can safely get away and be safe.

Prayers for these Icelanders. I visited there before the Pandemic. It was a heavenly place....God's country.

Just imagine someone telling you to hurry…you have 5 minutes to grab what you want and maybe never return! Wow

The whole peninsula is precisely where the Mid Atlantic Ridge is tearing Iceland in two - the North American plate on one side, and the Eurasian on the other. Plate tectonics in action, fascinating, terrifying and devastating for residents.

It's so beautiful there and peaceful-Looking. So sad for them that they have to leave, probably permanently.

I'm thinking of you all as this is where I was born and know a lot of you .
May God look out for you and this beautiful town. My thoughts are with you all. ❤ I am choosing to believe it will subside.

Serious difficulties due to a significant increase in natural disasters will begin from 2024 worldwide. We need to stop all conflicts and separations and unite all humanity for the single goal of survival. Only in a peaceful and safe *Creative* *Society* we will be able to solve problems with natural disasters.

The town of 4000 people got to this size due to the hydrothermal power plant and blue lagoon that uses the discharge water It was a small fishing village before that but yes volcanic activity is what made it grow Iceland was formed by volcanos and there are always at least one erupting somewhere on the island The town has known for weeks if not months that a fissure was active that ran right by the town so I’m guessing most were more prepared then this guy

We are on a living, breathing planet. We can expect constant change. The tectonic plates are moving. Look at what's happening on the west coast of Africa.
