Crusader Filmworks presents the beautiful Irish folk song about the apparition of Our Lady of Knock by Dana Rosemary Scallon, "Lady of Knock," covered by Eliza and posted today in honor of Ireland. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
The History of Our Lady of Knock:
The Virgin Mary appeared in Knock, Ireland on August 21, 1879, in a vision with St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist next to the Lamb of God standing on an altar with angels. There were many witnesses: men, women, and children, and the vision lasted for two hours.
Unlike other apparitions, Our Lady did not say anything to the visionaries. She came to comfort the Irish who had suffered so much at the hands of her enemies.
The whole story is summed up beautifully in these lyrics:
"Oh your message was unspoken, but the truth in silence lies
So I gaze upon your vision and the truth I try to find
Here I stand with John the teacher and with Joseph at your side
And I see the Lamb of God on the altar glorified."
