The ballroom looked like any other stereotypical ballroom for a palace, marble floors and gold-plated walls with pillars all over.

You swing unenthusiastically with masked disappointment, the man that has your arm is so dull, just like every other prince your father has tried to set you with. You step and spin to each strum, knowing this song with muscle memory at this point.

As you let your mind wander, the music slowly fades and morphs to your own beat, own rhythm and suddenly the room is distorting with each added beat.


You feel the music pick you up, as if you were in the air, you feel weightless and suddenly you’re in your own world. You can feel your body dancing, but you can also feel yourself slowly being released to the ground.


You’re back to the lilac field, the endless field of different shades of a brilliant purple, where the sky is always blue and the sun doesn’t burn. The wind doesn’t make it colder, and your crown doesn’t weigh the you down. You can feel your stress and anxiety fade and you feel weightless, as though a burden has been lifted off your shoulders

You feel the urge to run, run from this life. Run, and just keep running. Your Gown sways as you take off down the field, and you don’t see an end, you can keep running for as long as your can. Until you feel tired, until you need to drop down and catch your breath. As time goes on you can feel your heart racing, and you let yourself slow to a stop.

Breathlessly, You let yourself drop down into the lilac field, listening to the wind sway the flowers. The music plays in the background of your mind, and you lay amongst the lilac filled with an odd sense of calm and content. This is beautiful, and you feel beautiful. The violin fills your senses with a rush of happy, and you let yourself let out a giggle, that turns into pure laughing.


Suddenly you are pulled, and your body suddenly gets crushed with its own weight and the ground you were laying on mere seconds ago disappeared and you’re falling down. You blink back into focus, and you realize the song has stopped and your happy place is gone, and you’re back in his arms, in this boring ballroom, dancing. Your world is gone, pulled away from you so heartlessly.

He lets go of you and you feel relief wash over you, to finally be free from his grasp.
You excuse yourself from the room, and make your way up to the balcony. You walk up the steps, holding the gown above your steps. You can hear the music playing, your father’s calls for you growing more and more distant as you leave. You open up the doors to the balcony, however, instead of being alone, there’s someone there. You can’t help but notice how this someone is so utterly breathtaking.

You stand on the hill as you watch your kingdom burn to the ground. You turn around with a tear in your eye to see them standing there a sinister smirk on their face. You wanna hit them but kiss them at the same time. They put their hand out. Either you keep fighting for nothing or join their side. You turn back to your kingdom then back to them.

1. You put your hand into them and feel the power and fame. You smile as they smile back. They pull you into their arms and spin you. You dance until the kingdom is nothing but ash. You are now not on a queen/king/ruler but a villain of your own people. Was it the right decision? No. But it sure did feel right.

2. You pull your dagger from your pocket. Then own your lover had given you before you watched them burn in the fire. You would fight for them and for what this person has stolen from you. You stabbed them in the side. They stared at you and slowly tried to grab you. You pulled away and watched them fall to the ground. You waited until you saw them take their last breath to pull your dagger out. You looked at the reflection of your eyes in the blood covered blade and saw the kingdom burning behind you. This was truly it.
