To be fair, my parents took me and my siblings to a double feature of Independence Day and Twister when I was ten. (My younger siblings were 8, 6, and 4). I don't know about the two younger ones, but my eight year old sister grew up for a while thinking Independence Day and Twister were the same movie and I devoloped an irrational fear of Tornados (We lived in Washington) and thought every time we had a wind storm that the house was going to blow away. So yeah, maybe they should have waited a few years to shows those movies, lol.

As someone who grew up in Oklahoma, by the time this movie came out we were already running outside to look for tornadoes!! I remember that movie being made, Bill Paxton would stop and talk to everyone local!

This reminds me of when I was around 13 and the Movie Wedding Crashers just came out. My Grandma dropped me and my younger sister off at the theaters while she did some errands. The clerk that was there was like “this is an R rated movie” and asked how old we were, he then put both are ages together and said “you’re old enough, enjoy the movie.” I have never forgot about that.

Thank gosh, if Michael had watched that.. I don’t know how innocent he would’ve remained. “The Depiction of Very Bad Weather” can be a traumatizing sight for young eyes. We need to bring awareness to this, we need to protect our youth better.
