Have you ever wondered how some of the most popular dog breeds have gone from being functional working dogs to living with crippling health issues? In this eye-opening video, we dive into the tragic evolution of 10 beloved dog breeds that have been dramatically transformed by selective breeding. Once bred for their strength, endurance, and purpose, these breeds have slowly been modified to fit human ideals of appearance—at the cost of their health and well-being.

We’ll explore how breeds like the German Shepherd, originally agile and strong, now suffer from debilitating hip dysplasia due to exaggerated physical traits. Discover how once-resilient dogs like the Saint Bernard now face breathing difficulties because of their altered skulls, and how the iconic English Bulldog’s charming wrinkles come with a host of painful health problems.

From the adorable Pug, struggling to breathe with its flattened face, to the Dachshund’s back problems caused by its unnaturally long spine, you’ll learn how these genetic changes have put our favorite companions at risk. This video sheds light on the ethical concerns of selective breeding and what it means for the future of these breeds.

Join us as we uncover the shocking reality behind the cute faces of these 10 popular dog breeds and discuss what we can do to protect their well-being moving forward. This video makes me want to time travel to the eras where the original breeds had little to no health conditions and then bring the original breeds into the 21st century to show the different kennel clubs the massive differences of the original and the morden breeds.

It's a shame that dogs have been bred for aesthetics rather than function.Yet it also parallels what humans do to themselves for aesthetics.
