Right now DJI has an incredible drone lineup covering a wide range of capabilities. Trying to decide which drone is the best choice for you can be a little difficult. There are many things to consider such as price, capabilities and features, and of course regulations in the area in which you will be flying. In this video I go over some of the differences between today's most recent an popular drones from DJI to help you decide which drone is the right fit for your needs. We are comparing the DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mini 4 Pro, DJI Air 3, DJI Mavic 3 Classic, DJI Mavic 3 Pro and the DJI Avata

It was a good year for drones and action cameras. And the Mini 4 Pro is first great mini drones, where you don’t have to sacrifice features for being under 250 grams. Great list Shawn, and thanks for sharing.

Great buyers guide. So many valid points made. I agree with you on comparing the video quality between the Mavic 3 and other drones released this year. Most wouldn’t see the difference when shared on social media platforms.
Great production as always.

The Mini 4 Pro is the all around best for me. Portability, weight and low noise make it easier to fly especially in urban areas. Occusync 4 is a game changer! I'll wait for the Air 3s if I'm going to buy a larger drone. ;)

Thank you for this! I was watching your videos yesterday and I was actually hoping you would post a buyers guide for late 2023. I’m planning on selling my mini 3 pro and get a mini 4 pro and an Avata together, or get an air 3 or Mavic 3 classic/pro. This video has helped a lot. Keep up the great work!

Super helpful breakdown, I was just moving and found my old GoPro Karma drone. I haven't looked into them since getting that and the laws changing here in Canada. Now I'm thinking about getting back into it and had no idea where to start

Super review!
However if I was new to drones I might want to know about flight time on a single battery which might influence my decision.

Excellent video! Very informative with much to consider. Having flown my first drone, the Mini 2 & comfortable with the skills to move on to something more challenging, I was considering an up grade to the Avata...a very agile & nimble drone.
Unfortunately like you I live in Canada & the drone rules are a deterrent & huge head ache with paperwork, tests, fees & recurrent training etc... Another example of government bureaucracy...an over reach & cash cow!

Yes - I agree their must be rules! Drones have no borders & few limitations but I feel Transport Canada can be more liberal & lenient with respect to drone classification...notably weight. We as Canadians are more law abiding than Americans! The weight of Avata at 410 grams (<1 lb) is not much more than DJI Mini series. I've flown model planes for many years with >10x the weight & can be lethal in the wrong hands! A relaxation in the drone rules would be a welcome gesture for many (current) drone operators & encourage more into this amazing hobby.
It would also discourage more people to operate illegally...as I'm sure many do!

DRONES ARE HERE TO STAY & WITH MORE PEOPLE ENTERING INTO THE HOBBY IT MIGHT JUST BE AN IMPORTANT SKILL CANADA WILL NEED FOR IT'S FUTURE DEFENCE!

Great video!!! Thank you. I have an older Mavic Air and use the Maven app on my phone to use WAYPOINTS - Which I love. Set my mission at home, go to site, drone runs mission and I am done. Looking to get a new DJI Mini 4 Pro. Does it have built in waypoint capabilities? If not do any of the new Minie's or will I have to use the older controller? Thank you

Do you think the will ever make the Avata compatible with the RC smart controller?

The mini 3 pro is my 'step in' drone and the Air 3 will be my 'step up' drone. And the mini 4 sucks because i don't have one😒...i'm kidding af corse but for me it make more sense to upgrade to the Air 3 and get my pilot certificate😬 tnx. for the video✌🏼

awesome video. Question, im in canada as well. If you go higher tenth 250g drone and choose not to register or get a licence will the drone and app still allow you to fly? Not saying I'm going to break the law lol just asking if some choose too if the drone would still work?
