The largest free-flying flag in America (and the world) is in Pleasant Grove Utah. Her name is Big Betsy, and she hangs from steel cables in a canyon. She is 78 feet by 150 feet. Her stars are 5 feet. Go check out followtheflag.org for more info.

Actually the tallest and biggest American flag is the one in Sheboygan Wisconsin off of Hwy 43 not far from my house. The flagpole is nearly 100 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty at 400 ft tall. The flag is 70 x 140 feet across. The flag is the world's largest free-flying American flag. And each stripe is over 5 feet high and each star nearly 3 feet across. The flag covers 9, 800 sq ft and weighs 340 pounds!
