14+ years contracting (Iraq-Afghanistan and some in Oman) had one leather Fossil wallet, one pair of Wolverine boots and 2 G- Shock. The first one I had years prior that the strap finally broke 11 years in and the second G-Shock (solar) I bought at the PX In Oman which I still have 10 years later.

Casio is one of those brands that no matter where you are in your watch collection journey you should have at least one, this is a great example.

I have this one and it's amazing. The sizing is much better and more understated than the 44+mm models (and I got a 7 inch wrist)

I have owned 4 Rolex and 1 Omega, a ton of other brands (I'm a collector crazy watch guy) and the God T Goat is Casio G-Shock. I have the MR-G B5000B and many 2100s. G-Shock is an honest to God great brand and a great company. Rolex plays games with it's customers (you know what I mean with wait list and making you buy models you don't like to have a sales history in hopes to get the hot model that you want) nobody like Rolex, everybody loves Casio.

Got the one on the rubber strap, absolutely awesome watch for smaller wrists. Three negatives though: 1. the negative display, too dark and too small; 2. the edges on top of the case are somewhat sharp; 3. the lume, they should have lumed the hour markers right at the top where they meet the crystal

I got myself a silver G Shock GM-2100-1AER for about 160€ a year ago but this model made me think again.

Gorgeous design, love the bracelet. And the fact that it's heavier and doesn't feel like a child's toy.

I have the slightly larger cousin of this watch with the little turbine blade that spins around - the GST-B400BD-1A2. It is by far one of my favorite practical watches to wear and it is nice to have a G-Shock that is not oversized on my 6.5" wrist. I agree with all your points about these watches. The spring bar links, the fact I can swap out the metal bracelet with the resin strap easily, the usability of the buttons, and the Bluetooth and phone app makes setting time a breeze. The metal bracelet is a bit noisy with its pressed clasp but this is offset by the other good points of this watch.

I am a diehard G-Shock fan. They are awesome everyday watches. I hike, camp, ski, go to the gym, etc. I like having a timepiece on me at all times that I know won't break if I bang it up against something. If it get a ding or scratch here or there, it's not the end of the world. In fact, it gives it some character. I take care of my stuff of course, but things happen. I bring out nicer watches for more fancy occasions.

My “circumnavigate the world” watch is a Casio Oceanus OCW-T4000. It’s not a G-Shock, but it’s been through the wringer the last two years. It has no scratches worth mentioning, probably because of the TiC coating.
